'The Mereside'
"We were supposed to stay at the Rosslyn but they gave us an executive room at The Mereside (next door) because the Rosslyn wasn't available during those days (it looked like redecorating going on). The place was clean and the room excellent: large, very beautiful and comfortable. It's close to the promenade, thus being very practical for taking the bus (there are many lines) and/or choosing the steam and the electric railways. Breakfast was amazing: it deserves its reputation (that you can find on the guide of the Isle of Man)! Kippers, salmon, sausages, toasted bread, yogurt, tea and coffee, fruit, jam, cereals... simply everything. The quality of the restaurant is very good too. Oh, and free Wi-Fi made it perfect :) They were very professional and so friendly! I think they could teach a lot to the staff of many 4* hotels. Highly recommended to everyone! We really had a great stay on a wonderful island. So, many thanks to Chris for making our short holiday even more pleasant :) I really hope to go there again in the future: the Isle of Man is fantastic for those who love nature and walking, avoiding mass tourism. Besides, people there are very friendly and helpful. Definitely lovely! We had chosen a 4-star hotel before and there were strange problems with the booking, so we changed our mind and chose this guest house... we were very happy about the change then, actually really delighted :)"

"Lovely clean hotel, friendly service and wonderful breakfast, in the heart of Douglas and within walking distance of the town centre, beach and great restaurants. We can't wait to return."

"Stayed here for a week during the Manx Grand prix. A lovely family run hotel one street back from Douglas promenade.
The hotel sits in a terrace and looks like lots of other b+b accommodation nearby but once you get inside you see how nice it really is . Modern tasteful decor warm and clean
The breakfasts were great and more than plentiful . Evening meals were cooked on request . Great food and great value for money.
The rooms were spotless and bathrooms very modern .
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone looking to stay on the island. Well worth a visit and I for one will use it again."
